URGENT: A Hole Pierces His Heart, But Not His Will To Live

At only 10 weeks old, Odie is facing more trauma than most dogs do in a lifetime. This good boy is part of a litter of seven puppies we rescued down south. After arriving in Long Island, we took Odie to our trusted veterinarian for a thorough evaluation. That's when the devastating news came to light—Odie was diagnosed with a stage 5 heart murmur and a PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus), commonly known as a hole in the heart. Each inhale threatens to be his last. We are desperately scraping together the funds to afford his lifesaving surgery and care, but we're coming up short. Without your help, Odie may be facing his last days.

Despite his dire condition, Odie showcases an indomitable spirit. He plays with his furry friends, frolics in the grass, and displays an unyielding curiosity like any other playful pup. We cannot let this unwavering spirit go to waste. We are determined to fight for Odie's life.

Currently, this sweet boy is under the exceptional and dedicated care of one of our medical fosters, but his journey to recovery is far from over. He urgently needs an echocardiogram, a specialized non-invasive procedure that comes with a hefty price tag of $500. After that, vets are saying our brave little Odie will require a Video-assisted thoracoscopic ligation surgery to close the hole in his heart. This is an essential operation with an estimated cost of $5,500. To close it all out, we’ll need to take him for another non-invasive procedure, a $350 ultrasound, to ensure the surgery did its job and his heart is beating properly.

To provide Odie with a fighting chance, we need to raise a total of $6,350. Considering that unforeseen complications are likely to arise in this nature of care, our goal is to raise $7,000 as a buffer to cover any additional treatment, medications, aftercare, and necessary follow-up appointments that Odie may need. Time is of the essence and Odie's life hangs in the balance. Please help us gather the necessary funds and provide Odie with the life-saving surgery he so desperately needs. No matter the size, every contribution will go a long way toward giving Odie a fighting chance. Together, let's rally around this brave pup and show him the love and care he deserves.

Thank you in advance for your extraordinary generosity!

We promise to keep you updated on Odie's progress throughout his journey to recovery.
